Dez Emryk
Founder & Managing Partner
Dez Emryk is the Founder and Managing Principal of Zelyx. A former Division I basketball player at Appalachian State University, 14-year risk management professional, and licensed commercial real estate broker, Dez brings a perspective shaped by both the business of real estate and the human experience of place.
Before founding Zelyx, Dez advised global financial institutions on climate risk, regulatory strategy, and resilient business practices, with a focus on the risk implications for real estate and the built environment. That experience shaped her belief that the strongest places are those designed not only to perform financially, but to remain meaningful to the people and communities they serve.
She founded Zelyx to help institutions see real estate differently—not simply as an asset to develop or monetize, but as an opportunity to create places that strengthen communities, advance organizational missions, and become part of people's lives. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: the greatest places are those where traditions begin and memories last for generations.
Dez is based in Atlanta, where she also coaches high school varsity girls basketball and track.
